Films: City of the Dead (1960)
Alias: Elizabeth Selywn, among others
Type: Mystical
Location: Haunted Home
Height/Weight: That of an average human.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: So Asa Vajna was a pain in the neck? How about a whole group of people who think almost exactly like her! Albeit not as powerful, but no less horrifying.
History: Whitewood, Massachusetts, and the place is exiting the 17th century stage right. Before that, a good witch burning. Elizabeth Selwyn is on the stake today, but she makes a pact with Satan before burning to curse the area. Centuries later, the Raven's Inn is about the only think remarkable about the place. Mainly because Eli and her disciples sacrifice two people a year there to satiate Satan's hunger in order to stay immortal.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: To the disciple who didn’t bring up the fact that the second sacrifice of the year was being held at a cemetery littered with holy objects to burn them to death with, the fall of the Whitewood evil is on you. Not only that, but the (dying) savior gets a hold of the biggest damn cross there to reduce them all to beef jerky. We're talking one half his size. Way to go out in style!
Powers/Abilities: Through Satan's allegiance, they can live forever and sustain heavy damage.
Weakness: Holy objects will burn them like vampires in sunlight.
Scariness Factor: 2.5-These pasty-faced fiends make sure the ritual sacrifice is drawn-out and dreadful. Aside from that, they got taken out fairly quickly by their own sacrificial area! Kind of an idiot move, really.
Trivia: -The alternative title for this film's 1963 U.S. release was "Horror Hotel".
-This film was meant to be the pilot for a T.V. show featuring Boris Karloff. Let that idea sink in for a while.
